Open-cone systems typically provide a louder induction and turbo sound, while sealed airboxes are designed to separate the filter from warmer engine-bay air. The most suitable design depends on the vehicle, engine setup and desired driving experience.

A cold air intake system can make turbo spool, compressor noise and throttle response feel more noticeable by reducing the sound insulation created by the factory airbox. Naturally aspirated engines may produce a stronger induction tone under acceleration.

CHOOSING THE CORRECT COLD AIR INTAKE
Intake systems must be selected for the exact engine rather than the vehicle model alone. Different engines may use unique filter positions, pipe diameters, mounting points, sensors and crankcase ventilation connections.
Before ordering, confirm the model, chassis code, production year, engine code and existing modifications. Compatibility with factory MAF sensors, breather hoses, engine covers and strut braces should also be checked.
INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE
Many performance intakes use factory mounting points and can be installed without permanent modification. All clamps, hoses and sensor connections should be secured carefully to prevent unmetered air leaks or warning lights.
