F30 SALOON, F31 TOURING AND F34 GRAN TURISMO
Although these vehicles belong to the same 3 Series generation, their bodywork is not interchangeable. The F30 uses a traditional Saloon design, the F31 has a longer Touring roofline and tailgate, while the F34 Gran Turismo features unique dimensions, doors and rear bodywork.

The full BMW M3 F80 uses wider bodywork, different bumpers and model-specific mechanical components. F80 exterior parts should not automatically be assumed to fit an F30, F31 or F34.
BMW F30, F31 AND F34 EXHAUST UPGRADES
A BMW F30 performance exhaust can provide a deeper and more engaging sound while improving the appearance of the rear bumper. Depending on the engine and original exhaust layout, available options may include valved cat-back systems, axle-back exhausts, centre sections and dual- or quad-exit conversions.
Valved exhaust systems allow drivers to retain a quieter tone during motorway journeys and everyday use before opening the valves for a stronger performance sound. Final volume will depend on the engine, catalytic converters, downpipe, resonators, OPF or GPF equipment and rear silencer.
Four-cylinder, six-cylinder, petrol, diesel and hybrid vehicles use different exhaust arrangements. Rear-wheel-drive and xDrive models may also require different pipe routing.
DOWNPIPES, INTAKES AND COOLING UPGRADES
Upgraded BMW F30 downpipes can reduce restriction after the turbocharger, increase exhaust volume and support additional tuning potential on compatible petrol engines. High-flow catted and catless versions may be available depending on the exact engine.
Catless downpipes may not comply with emissions testing, inspection requirements or public-road regulations and can require compatible engine software. Local laws should always be checked before installation.
A BMW F30 cold air intake can increase induction and turbocharger sound while supporting improved airflow. Selected models may also benefit from turbo inlet pipes, charge pipes, intercoolers, heat exchangers and supporting cooling components.

BODY STYLE, FACELIFT AND BUMPER DIFFERENCES
Exterior components should be selected for the exact chassis and factory bumper. Standard and M Sport vehicles use different lower bumper shapes and mounting positions, meaning a splitter or diffuser designed for one version will not normally fit the other.
F30 Saloon spoilers and rear diffusers will not fit the F31 Touring or F34 Gran Turismo unless compatibility is specifically confirmed. Pre-LCI and LCI vehicles can also have different lights, grilles and exterior trim.
Rear diffusers must match the intended exhaust arrangement. Single-sided, dual-sided and quad-exit systems require different outlet openings and tip positions.
CHOOSING THE CORRECT BMW 3 SERIES PARTS
Before purchasing BMW F30, F31 or F34 aftermarket parts, confirm the chassis, production year, engine, drivetrain, body style and factory exterior package. Fitment may also depend on the original exhaust system, facelift version, emissions equipment and existing modifications.
