Designed for the Volkswagen Golf R MK8 powered by the EA888 Gen 4 2.0 TSI turbocharged engine and equipped with OPF / GPF, this high-flow catless downpipe replaces the restrictive factory catalytic converter section with a significantly freer-flowing exhaust path directly after the turbocharger.
Manufactured from high-quality SS304 stainless steel, the downpipe is engineered to withstand extreme exhaust temperatures while providing excellent corrosion resistance, strength and long-term durability.
An integrated metal heat shield helps reduce radiant heat around the downpipe and surrounding engine-bay components, providing additional thermal protection in the high-temperature turbocharger area.
The catless configuration removes the restrictive factory catalytic converter, significantly reducing post-turbo exhaust restriction and improving exhaust gas flow. This provides increased turbocharger sound together with a deeper, louder and more aggressive 2.0 TSI exhaust note.
The freer-flowing design makes this downpipe particularly suitable for tuned and performance-oriented EA888 Gen 4 builds where improved exhaust flow and reduced restriction are a priority.
Vehicle-specific routing, flange geometry and mounting points are designed around the factory Volkswagen Golf R MK8 exhaust system. Original sensors and applicable OEM components should be transferred during installation where required. Professional installation is strongly recommended.
