Designed for the BMW M3 F80 and BMW M4 F82 / F83 powered by the S55 3.0L twin-turbo inline-six, this upgraded top-mount charge air cooler / intercooler provides increased thermal capacity for tuned, higher-boost and demanding performance applications.
The S55 uses a liquid-to-air intercooling system, with the top-mounted charge cooler responsible for transferring heat away from the compressed intake charge. This upgraded unit features a thicker bar & plate core designed to provide increased cooling capacity compared with the factory-style core.
Improved charge-air cooling helps reduce intake air temperatures and heat soak during repeated acceleration, sustained boost and high-load driving, supporting more consistent engine performance under demanding conditions.
The robust bar & plate construction is particularly well suited to tuned and higher-output S55 applications, where increased boost pressure and turbocharger airflow create additional thermal load compared with a standard vehicle.
The vehicle-specific design is engineered around the factory BMW F8X S55 charge-air cooling system, retaining the original-style mounting position, coolant connections and intake interfaces for straightforward installation.
Finished in Black for a clean OEM+ engine-bay appearance. Professional installation and correct bleeding of the charge-cooler circuit are recommended.
